What Your Hug Says About Relationships

Did you know that the way you hug can tell a lot about your personality? The human body and the way of acting of each person can give some clues about the personality immersed or prevailing over it.

There are many determining traits in behavior, which are quite proven. For example, a confident person walks more upright than someone who does not feel good about himself.

Something similar happens with the way people hug each other; There are several types and these can say a lot about the situation or the relationships established.

Types of hugs

Common hug with blow or caress on the back

The common hug is the normal hug, the one we give to a loved one or a person whom we seek to greet with a certain affection. Among the individuals who make this hug, there is usually already a certain trust and camaraderie.

Therefore, it is an act that gives off love and a good relationship between those involved. If you greet a lot of people like this, it is likely that you are someone friendly, outgoing and who has no trouble making friends.

Chest to back hug

A happy hug is natural.

The chest-to-back hug or known as “the protector” is done by standing behind someone, putting their arms under theirs and joining hands on the abdomen. The person standing in front, in turn, rests the arms on the forearms of the other.

It is a very common hug in couple relationships, since it implies a certain intimacy and physical contact. However, it can also be applied to the family environment (from a mother to her children, for example).

Face to face hug

The face-to-face hug is the very display of affection. It is carried out with people looking into each other’s eyes and bringing the front part of their noses together; one of the members wraps their arms around the neck, while the other covers the waist of the other person.

This is quite practiced by loving or affectionate couples, who want to show all the security in their partner.  Similarly, it is also common among grandparents and grandchildren or parents and children.

Over-the-shoulder hug

This type of hug is distinguished by being done with one hand. Here, both people stand next to each other, brushing their shoulders.

One of them performs the movement, placing the arm part above the shoulder of the other individual who, in turn, positions the arm at the level of the shoulder blades of the first.

People who practice this hug suggest a relationship with very strong friendly ties.  It is also considered a sign of loyalty, respect and unconditional support.

Although it seems like an uncomfortable hug, in reality it is the opposite. If you have this gesture with your friends, it is likely that you have a very close relationship and there is a lot of trust between you.

A hug never hurts.

Hug for decency

It is similar to the common hug, one of the participants being who passes his arms over the shoulders, while the other places them under the armpits, at the height of the upper ribs.

The difference with respect to the common one is based on the hands, which thanks to the distance end in the ribs. The position of this shows two distant people in the lower part of the body, joining in a timid way in the upper part.

This suggests an encounter between two insecure individuals, who have been through unpleasant situations. It also explains a way of being unfriendly or troubled in previous relationships.

It usually occurs between people who have not seen each other for a long time, ex-partners or old friends with whom you no longer have much relationship.

Give more hugs to yours: it will bring you happiness

Tokens of affection are always well received by loved ones. They bring affection, support, and warmth;  They generate trust and allow a very pleasant feeling of union with the other to be established.

Therefore, do not hesitate to hug those you love and make you happy. It will bring benefits to all of you, it will increase your bond and, ultimately, it will improve your self-esteem.
